Cowboy Henk, first published in De Vooruit (currently De Morgen), is a senior official of the Flemish 9th Art.

His adventures and interactions develop in the inimitable brains of Kamagurka and Herr Seele. The uncontrollable but brilliant Henk soon receives enraged reader's reactions and decides to continue his career in the weekly magazine Humo. He embellishes it with diplomatic trips abroad: Raw Magazine from Art Spiegelman, L’Echo de Savanes and Fluide Glacial.

Head of Cabinet Umberto Eco describes the comic as follows: "Cowboy Henk isn’t always good, but when it's good, it's really good."

Cowboy Henk is imbued with Belgian surrealism as well as the school of Hara Kiri. He secretly creeps into the thoughts of rebellious spirits like Gébé, Willem, Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart and The Ex. Bet he practices macrobiotics.

Cowboy Henk is surrealism for the masses.
